Without cargo insurance, any claim for loss or damage is strictly limited by international treaties, US Federal Laws and the shipment contract as stated on the back of the air waybill.

Cargo is protected against “All Risk” of physical loss or damage from any external cause.
Coverage commences from the time goods leave the shipper and/or supplier’s place of business and continues in force during the ordinary and customary course of transit to the destination as detailed on your airway bill.
Coverage remains in force up to fifteen (15) days after aircraft discharge or until delivery is accomplished, whichever occurs first.
Concealed damage must be reported within three (3) business days of delivery.
Exceptions:
The insured value is the value of the goods + 20%.
It is expected that the value declared is the commercial value of the goods.
The value declared must be supported by a commercial invoice. Underinsuring will fall under a co-insurance situation and will impact claim recovery.
Conditions and guidelines must be met to insure Household Goods and Personal Effects, cell phones, telecommunication equipment, perishables and high value shipments. Contact your shipping agent to insure these commodities.
