Director of Safety

Andres Leiton serves as Part 119 Director of Safety (DOS), bringing over 17 years of aviation experience to the team. As Director of Safety, he oversees a range of responsibilities within Amerijet’s Safety Management System (SMS). His primary duty is to ensure the SMS is robust by collaborating with department leaders. He is also responsible for the successful execution of numerous tasks and functions across various critical safety areas. This includes the authority to modify any activities related to Amerijet’s Safety Management System.

Andres has a strong background in the aviation industry, exhibiting proficiency in risk assessment, quality assurance, safety management systems, and auditing. Before joining Amerijet, he held numerous leadership roles in the aviation industry, including Manager of SMS at World Atlantic Airlines and Director of Safety at Centurion Air Cargo.

Andres earned his bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering at Universidad de San Buenaventura in Bogota, Colombia, and his master’s degree in Aeronautical Science, specializing in Aviation Safety Systems and Aviation Management, from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
